Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Rear Suspension
Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Service Intervals) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Service and Repair) .
3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
4. Disconnect the ESC rear position sensor link.
5. Remove the brake caliper and rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake
System/Brake Caliper/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement) and Front Brake Rotor

6. Disconnect the shock absorber ESC harness connector.
7. Separate the outer tie rod end from the suspension knuckle. Refer to Tie Rod Replacement (Inner) (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Tie
Rod/Service and Repair/Rear Suspension) .
8. Remove the spindle nut retainer, the spindle nut and the washer. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Transmission and
Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair) .
9. Separate the upper control arm (1) from the suspension knuckle. Refer to Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement (Except RPO FE4) (See:
Steering and Suspension/Suspension/Control Arm/Service and Repair/Rear Suspension/Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement (Except RPO
