Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair
Rear Suspension
Knuckle Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Maintenance/Service Intervals) .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (See: Wheels and Tires/Service and Repair) .
3. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor harness connector.
4. Disconnect the ESC position sensor link. Refer to Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement (See: Sensors and Switches - Steering
and Suspension/Sensors and Switches - Suspension/Ride Height Sensor/Service and Repair/Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor
Replacement) .
5. Remove the brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Disc Brake System/Brake Rotor/Disc/Service

6. Separate the outer tie rod end from the suspension knuckle. Refer to Tie Rod Replacement (Inner) (See: Tie Rod/Service and Repair/Rear
Suspension) .
7. Remove the spindle nut retainer, the spindle nut and the washer. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement (See: Transmission and
Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service and Repair) .
8. Separate the suspension knuckle from the upper control arm. Refer to Rear Axle Upper Control Arm Replacement (Except RPO FE4) (See:

9. Separate the suspension knuckle from the lower control arm ball joint stud. Refer to Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement (See:
Suspension/Control Arm/Service and Repair/Rear Suspension/Rear Axle Lower Control Arm Replacement) .
10. Remove the suspension knuckle.
