Power Steering Pump Replacement

Power Steering Pump Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement  (See: Brakes and Traction

Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes/Service and Repair/Brake Pressure Modulator
Valve Replacement) .

2. Remove the BPMV bracket. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket Replacement  (See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes /

Traction Control Systems/Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes/Service and Repair/Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Bracket
Replacement) .

3. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement  (See: Power Steering Fluid

Reservoir/Service and Repair/Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement) .

4. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement  (See: ) .
5. Remove the power steering reservoir outlet pipe/hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose

Replacement  (See: Power Steering Line/Hose/Service and Repair/Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement) .

6. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement  (See: Power

Steering Line/Hose/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement) .

7. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts (3) from the power steering pump (2).
8. Remove the following components from the power steering pump rear bracket (1):

The power steering pump front bracket (3)

The power steering pump (2)

Installation Procedure

1. Install the following components to the power steering pump rear bracket (1):

The power steering pump (2)

*

The power steering pump front bracket (3)

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice  .

2. Install the power steering pump mounting bolts (4) to the power steering pump (2).

Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the power steering reservoir outlet pipe/hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement

 (See: Power Steering Line/Hose/Service and Repair/Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Outlet Hose Replacement) .

4. Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement  (See: Power

Steering Line/Hose/Service and Repair/Power Steering Pressure Pipe/Hose Replacement) .

5. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement  (See: ) .
