Squeak, Creak or Itch Noise in Windshield Area (Install Flocking Tape And Shim Stock)

This bulletin is being revised to change the procedure in the correction Step 3 and to update the information for Kent Automotive. Please discard
Corporate bulletin number 07-08-59-001 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).
Condition
Some customers may comment on a squeak, creak or itching noise coming from the windshield area on the left or the right side.
This noise could be coming from one or all of the following areas:
The lower part of the A-pillar
The A-pillar trim panel at the windshield
The headliner at the top of the windshield
Correction
Install flocking tape to the following areas: headliner, windshield garnish molding and A-pillar. This repair should be made to the left and right side of
the vehicle.
Remove the headliner. Refer to Headliner Trim Panel Replacement in SI.
Install flocking tape 8 mm wide by 40 mm long (0.31 in by 1.6 in) to the headliner. Place the flocking tape to the edge of the headliner and wrap it
around the back side to provide a cushion for any contact with the windshield. Place the flocking tape at the outer edge where the headliner meets the
A-pillar molding and the windshield as shown in the illustration above.
