Cruze L4-1.4L Turbo (2011)
1. Install EN-498-B - gauge (1) along with EN-498-3 - adapter (2).
2. Start Engine.
Note: The oil temperature should be between 80°C and 100°C.
3. Measure the oil pressure:
*
The oil pressure at idle speed should be 150kpa (22 psi).
*
The oil pressure between 3000 - 3500 rpm should be 380 - 650 kpa (55 - 94 psi).
4. Stop engine.
5. If the engine oil pressure is below specifications, inspect the engine for 1 or more of the following conditions:
*
Oil pump worn or dirty. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement (See: Oil Pump/Service and Repair) and Engine Front Cover and Oil Pump Cleaning
and Inspection (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/52. Engine Front Cover and Oil Pump Cleaning and Inspection).
*
Oil suction gallery clogged or dirty. Refer to Oil Pan Cleaning and Inspection (See: Service and Repair/Overhaul/59. Oil Pan Cleaning and
Inspection)
*
Cracked, porous, or restricted oil galleries.
*
Oil pressure relief valve malfunction.
6. Remove EN-498-B - gauge and EN-498-3 - adapter.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the oil pressure indicator switch and a NEW oil pressure indicator switch seal ring.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).
2. Tighten the oil pressure indicator switch to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
