Floor Shift

1.

Place ignition switch in ``Off'' position and raise vehicle.

2.

Loosen locknuts at shift rod swivels, Fig. 5. The rods should pass freely through the swivels.

3.

Place transmission shift levers in neutral position.

4.

Move shift control lever into the neutral detent position, align control assembly levers and insert gage pin into lever alignment slot.

5.

Tighten locknuts at shift rod swivels and remove gage pin.

6.

Place transmission control lever in reverse position and the ignition switch in ``Lock'' position. Loosen lock nut at back-drive control rod swivel,
then pull rod downward slightly to remove slack in the column mechanism, then tighten the locknut.

7.

Check interlock control. The ignition switch should move freely to and from the ``Lock'' position.

8.

Check transmission shift operation and if satisfactory, lower vehicle.
