Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE

J 3049-A Valve Lifter Remover
1. Remove the intake manifold.
2. Remove the push rods.
3. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Removal under Engine Unit Repair.
4. Remove the valve lifter retainer and the guides.
IMPORTANT: The valve lifters and guides must be installed in the same location from which they were removed.
5. Remove the valve lifters one at a time.
6. Place the lifters and guides in an organizer rack.
