Express 1/2 Ton Van V8-305 5.0L VIN M SFI (1998)
7. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt.
8. Remove the oil level indicator tube from the engine using a twisting motion.
9. Clean the old sealer from the oil level indicator tube and the engine block.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent, to the end of the oil level indicator tube bottom half.
2. Install the oil level indicator tube to the engine.
Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Installation under Engine Unit Repair.
3. Line up the indicator tube with the spark plug retainer.
4. Install the bolt.

Tighten the oil level indicator tube bolt to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
