Heater Hose: Service and Repair
Auxiliary Heating System

Front Inlet and Outlet Pipe

Remove or Disconnect

1. Drain the coolant. 
2. The exhaust system as necessary. 
3. The heat shields from the vehicle. 
4. The heater hose connections from the water by-pass valve.
5. The heater hose connections at the intermediate pipe.
6. The retainers from the vehicles body.
7. The front inlet and outlet pipe from the vehicle.

Install or Connect

1. The front inlet and outlet pipe to the vehicle.
2. The retainers to the vehicles body.

Tighten

The retainers to the body to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. The heater hose connections at the intermediate pipe.
4. The heater hose connections from the water by-pass valve.
5. The heat shields from the vehicle. 
6. The exhaust system as necessary. 
7. Refill the coolant. 

Heater Line

Tool Required:
J 41425 A/C and Heater Line Repair Kit

The heater line repair kit is the recommended repair for all heater lines that require repair caused by rub through, collision damage, or system leakage. In
a situation that the heater line has visible damage in a bend area, the heater line needs to be sectioned. Sectioning the line will obtain the original line
shape to avoid vibrations or possible rub through.

Straight Heater Line Repair

1. Drain the coolant system. 
2. Locate the repair area.
3. With a tubing cutter, cut the damaged line for repair.
4. Clean any burrs or grease at least 3/4 of an inch from the heater line using the cleaning pad provided in the kit.
5. Prep the heater line to be repaired using the 10k prep sealant.
6. Install the proper LOK fitting into the jaws.

Apply one drop of sealing compound J 41425-3 to the outside of each line end.

Insert the line ends into the LOK fitting. Rotate the LOK fitting one complete turn to evenly distribute the sealing compound around the lines.
