Steering Asst Control SOL, Discharge Fitting, Flow Control Valve

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

Power Steering Fluid Flow Actuator

1. Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Install a drain pan under the inlet power steering pipe.
3. The inlet power steering pipe from the power steering fluid flow actuator.
4. Let the power steering fluid drain into the drain pan.
5. The electrical connector from the power steering fluid flow actuator.

Important:  Note the position of the electrical terminal for the proper placement of the fluid flow actuator during installation.

6. Position the oil cooler lines away from the fluid flow actuator as necessary. 
7. With a wrench, remove the power steering fluid flow actuator from the power steering pump.
8. The retaining clip from the backside of the actuator.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Remove the drain pan and discard the oil.
2. The retaining clip to the NEW actuator.
3. With a wrench, install the power steering fluid flow actuator to the power steering pump.

Tighten

The power steering fluid flow actuator to the power steering pump to 62 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).

4. The oil cooler lines to the vehicle. 
5. The electrical connector to the power steering fluid flow actuator.
6. The inlet power steering pipe to the power steering fluid flow actuator.

Tighten
^

The inlet power steering pipe to the power steering fluid flow actuator to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.).

7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Fill the power steering reservoir with power steering fluid to the Full mark on the dip stick.
9. Bleed the power steering system.
