Evaporator Core Replacement - Auxiliary

EVAPORATOR CORE REPLACEMENT - AUXILIARY

TOOLS REQUIRED

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module. See: Housing Assembly HVAC/Service and Repair

2. Remove the screws from the auxiliary HVAC module.
3. Separate the case halves.
4. Remove the evaporator core seal.
5. Remove the evaporator core from the auxiliary HVAC module.
6. Inspect the gaskets and the seals for damage.
7. Replace the gaskets and the seals.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Add Refrigerant to the evaporator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.

2. Install the evaporator core to the auxiliary HVAC module.
3. Install the evaporator core seal.
4. Reassemble the case halves.

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the auxiliary HVAC module screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (16 lb in).

6. Install the auxiliary HVAC module.
7. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A.
