1. Connect the outer tie rod (3) to the inner tie rod (1). Do not tighten the jam nut (2).

2. Connect the outer tie rod to the steering knuckle.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice  .

3. Install the outer tie rod retaining nut.

Tighten the nut to 63 N.m (47 lb ft).

Important:  Be sure the power steering gear boot is not twisted after the toe adjustment.

4. Check the wheel alignment. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement  (See: Alignment/Service and Repair/Wheel Alignment Measurement) .
