Express 1500 RWD V8-5.3L (2008)
4. Install the oil pan and a new gasket.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .
5. Install the oil pan bolts.
Tighten the oil pan to transmission case bolts alternately and evenly to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
6. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (4.3L) Catalytic Converter Replacement (4.8L, and 5.3L ) Catalytic
Converter Replacement (6.0L - Right) Catalytic Converter Replacement (6.0L - Left) Catalytic Converter Replacement (6.6L (LMM)) .
7. If previously removed, install the range selector cable bracket and bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
8. Apply a small amount of sealant GM P/N 12346004 to the threads of the oil pan drain plug, if equipped.
9. Install the oil pan drain plug, if equipped.
Tighten the oil pan drain plug to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
10. Lower the vehicle.
11. Fill the transmission to the proper level with DEXRON(R) VI transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check (See: Testing and
Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E - Automatic Transmission/Transmission Fluid Check) and Fluid
Capacity Specifications (See: Specifications/Capacity Specifications/4L60-E/4L65-E/4L70-E - Automatic Transmission) .
12. Check the COLD fluid level reading for initial fill only.
13. Inspect the oil pan gasket for leaks.
