2. Remove the lock rod from the left side rear door lower latch (2).
3. Remove the bolts (4) that retain the left side rear door lower latch (2) to the door.
4. Remove the left side rear door lower latch (2) from the door.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the left side rear door lower latch (2) to the door.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

2. Install the bolts (4) in order to retain the left side rear door lower latch to the door and tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb ft).
3. Install the lock rod to the left side rear door lower latch.
4. Install the left side rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side 60/40 Door Trim Panel Replacement - Left Side (E26, 40 Door)   (See: Rear Door

Removal Procedure

1. Open the door.
2. Disconnect the power connector.

3. Remove the latch bolts (2).
4. Remove the latch (1).
