Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) (See: Cooling System/Service and

2. Remove the radiator outlet pipe. Refer to Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (LU3) (See: Cooling System/Radiator Hose)Radiator Outlet Hose

3. Remove the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to Thermostat Bypass Pipe Replacement (See: Cooling System/Coolant Line/Hose/Service and
Repair/Thermostat Bypass Pipe Replacement).
4. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Replacement (See: Cylinder Block Assembly/Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft
Pulley/Service and Repair).
5. Remove the water pump to water pump outlet pipe nuts (1) from the studs (2).
