Replacing Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose on Express 2500 V8-66L Diesel Turbo
1. Place drain pans under the vehicle.
2. Remove as much power steering fluid from the reservoir as possible.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (See: Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
4. If necessary, remove the left front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (See: Body and
Frame/Fender/Rear Fender/Rear Fender Liner/Service and Repair/Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement).
Caution: Refer to Power Steering Hose Disconnected Caution (See: Service Precautions).
5. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.
6. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the reservoir.
7. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Installing Hoses
without Twists or Bends Caution).
1. Position the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose in the vehicle.
2. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
3. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the reservoir.
4. If you removed the left front wheelhouse splash shield, install the splash shield. Refer to Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement (See: Body and
Frame/Fender/Rear Fender/Rear Fender Liner/Service and Repair/Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement).
5. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Power
Steering/Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair).
6. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle.
7. Remove the drain pans from under the vehicle.
8. Lower the vehicle.
