Ignition Lock Cylinder Case Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to SIR Warning   (See: Restraint Systems/Service Precautions/SIR Warning).

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air

Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair).

2. Remove the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement   (See: Service and Repair).
3. Remove the turn signal cancel cam. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement   (See: Steering and

Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement).

4. Remove the park lock cable from the lock cylinder housing.

5. Remove 3 TORX(R) screws.
6. Remove the lock cylinder housing from the steering column.

Installation Procedure

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Caution   (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).

1. Install 3  TORX(R) screws into the lock cylinder housing and tighten to 7 Nm (62 lb in).
2. Install the turn signal cancel cam. Refer to Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement   (See: Steering and

Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Service and Repair/Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Steering Shaft Upper Bearing Spring Replacement).

3. Install the park lock cable into the lock cylinder housing.
4. Install the ignition switch. Refer to Ignition and Start Switch Replacement   (See: Service and Repair).
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Air

Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair).

6. Refer to Control Module References   (See: Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning) for programming and setup information.
