Power Steering Pump Replacement
Power Steering Pump Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L)
Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan below under the vehicle.
2. Remove the power steering pump pulley.
3. Remove the lower intermediate shaft to the power steering gear retaining bolt.
4. Disconnect the lower intermediate shaft from the power steering gear.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
6. Remove the tire and wheel.
7. Disconnect the reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump through the wheel well.
8. Disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose or cooler hose the power steering pump through the wheel well.
