4L60-E Automatic Transmission
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Position the steering column shift lever to park.
3. Before removing the shift cable from the vehicle, ensure that the transmission is in the mechanical park position. Position the transmission control
lever to mechanical park by rotating the control lever clockwise until the control lever reaches its full clockwise stop position.
4. Remove the clip securing the shift cable to the steering column bracket.
5. Remove the shift cable from the steering column shift control.
6. Remove the rubber grommet from the floor panel.
7. Raise and support the vehicle.
8. Remove the shift cable clips from the engine and transmission brackets.
