Brake Master Cylinder: Service and Repair
Master Cylinder Replacement (Hydraulic Brake Booster)
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Remove the brake pipes from the brake master cylinder.
3. Plug the brake pipes in order to prevent brake fluid contamination.
4. Remove the nuts that secure the brake master cylinder to the hydraulic power brake booster.
5. Remove the brake master cylinder from the hydraulic power brake booster.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Before you install the master cylinder, bench bleed the master cylinder.
2. Install the brake master cylinder to the hydraulic power brake booster.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the brake master cylinder nuts.

Tighten the brake master cylinder nuts to 36 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
