Seat Belt Buckle Pretensioner Replacement
SEAT BELT BUCKLE PRETENSIONER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 for the drivers side or to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 9 for the
passenger side.
CAUTION:
-
When carrying an undeployed inflatable restraint seat belt pretensioner:
-
Do not carry the seat belt pretensioner by the wires or connector.

Carry the seat belt pretensioner by the piston tube, keeping hands and fingers away from the cable.

Make sure the open end of the seat belt pretensioner piston tube points away from you and other people.

Do not cover the seat belt pretensioner piston tube opening with your hand.
Failure to observe these guidelines may result in personal injury.

Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.
1. Remove the screws (1) from the pretensioner trim cover (2).
2. Remove the pretensioner trim cover (2).
3. Disconnect the pretensioner electrical connectors (3).
IMPORTANT: Note the wiring and connector routing during the removal, in order to route the wiring properly during assembly.
4. Remove the pretensioner bolt (2) and remove pretensioner (1) from seat.
