Throttle Body: Service and Repair
THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Do not for any reason, insert a screwdriver or other small hand tools into the throttle body to hold open the throttle plate, as the
wedge inside the throttle body could be damaged.
1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect the accelerator control cable and the cruise control cable from the throttle body.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the throttle body.
4. Disconnect the throttle position (TP ) sensor and idle air control (IAC) valve harness connectors.
5. Disconnect the coolant hose from the throttle body.
6. Disconnect the coolant hose from the vapor vent pipe.
