    Some engines have both standard and .010 inch oversize valve lifters. The .010 inch oversize valve lifters are etched with a ``0'' on the side of the
lifter. Also, the cylinder block will be marked if an oversize lifter is used, Fig. 25.

Remove intake manifold as outlined previously.

2.

Remove valve covers, rocker arm assemblies and pushrods. Note location of valve train components so they can be installed in original position.

3.

Remove the hydraulic lifter retainer bolts, Fig. 26.

4.

Remove valve lifters.

5.

Reverse procedure to install. Plungers are not interchangeable because they are selectively fitted to the bodies at the factory.
