1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Support axle with suitable jack.
3. Remove spring shackle upper retaining bolt.
4. Remove eye bolt.
5. Remove spring to axle housing U-bolt nuts, then the spring, lower plate and spring pads, Fig. 5.
6. To replace bushings, position spring on a suitable press and press bushings from spring using suitable tools. Install bushings in same manner,

ensuring bushings protrude an equal amount at each side of spring.

7. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten U-bolt nuts specifications.
