Thermostat: Service and Repair
Remove or Disconnect
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Upper fan shroud.

Drain the cooling system until the radiator coolant level is below the thermostat.
3. Engine oil dipstick tube brace and the oil fill brace.
4. Studs and the coolant outlet.
5. Radiator inlet hose (upper).
6. Thermostat from its housing.
7. Gasket.
Inspect
^
Thermostat housing and coolant outlet sealing surfaces making sure they are clean.
