Coolant Reservoir: Service and Repair

CAUTION:  When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL (tm) coolant. If coolant other than DEX-COOL (tm) Is
added to the system the coolant will require change sooner at 50,000km (30,000 miles) or 24 months.

REMOVE

1. The reservoir hose clamp and hose at the radiator overflow fitting.
2. The reservoir retaining bolt.
3. The coolant reservoir from the cowl tabs and remove from the vehicle.

Clean the coolant reservoir with soap and water and rinse with clean water.

INSTALL

1. The coolant reservoir to the cowl tabs.
2. The reservoir retaining bolt.

^

Tighten
-

The coolant reservoir bolt to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).

-

The surge tank retaining bolt to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).

3. The reservoir hose clamp and hose at the radiator overflow fitting.
4. Fill the reservoir to the proper level.
