Vacuum Regulator Valve/Throttle Position Switch: Adjustments

Throttle position switch adjustment

1.

Disconnect TPS connector, Fig. 34.

2.

Loosen screws with throttle closed, then attach test light across switch terminals.

3.

Insert a .280 inch gage block between gage boss and wide open stop screw on the throttle shaft. Fig. 34.

4.

Rotate and hold throttle lever against gage block (wide open throttle).

5.

Rotate TPS clockwise until test light comes on. Hold TPS and tighten screws.

6.

Release throttle lever and allow to return to idle position.

7.

Remove .280 inch gage block and insert .310 inch gage block.

8.

TPS is set correctly if test light is off. If test light is on, return to step 2 and repeat procedure.

9.

Connect TPS connector.
