Brake Hose/Line: Service and Repair
Brake Master Cylinder Pipes to the EBCM
WARNING: Always use double-walled steel brake pipe when replacing brake pipes. The use of any other pipe is not recommended and may
cause brake system failure. Carefully route and retain replacement brake pipes. Always use the correct fasteners and the original location for
replacement brake pipes. Failure to properly route and retain brake pipes may cause damage to the brake pipes and brake system failure.
Brake pipes that run parallel to each other must maintain a 6 mm (1/4 inch) clearance.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. The brake pipe from the brake master cylinder.
2. The brake pipe from the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) unit.
3. The brake pipe retaining clips from the frame.
4. The brake pipe from the vehicle.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. The brake pipe to the vehicle.
2. The brake pipe retaining clips to the frame.
3. The brake pipe to the EBCM unit and tighten to 20 Nm (14 ft. lbs.).
4. The brake pipe to the brake master cylinder and tighten to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

Front Brake Hose
NOTE: Clean dirt, grease, and other foreign material from the hose fittings at both ends before servicing components.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. The front brake pipe from the brake hose.
2. The retaining nut and retaining clip from the front brake hose.
