Audible Warning Device: Description and Operation
The Warnings and Alarms System sounds an alarm to bring attention to one or more of several conditions.
These conditions are: 1) the lights are on and the Ignition Switch is turned to LOCK, OFF or ACC, 2) the key is in the Ignition Switch when the driver's
door is open and 3) the safety belt is unbuckled when the Ignition Switch is in any position but OFF or ACC.
Voltage is supplied at all times through the STOP-HZ Fuse to terminal B1 of Alarm Module Connector to provide voltage to the Alarm Module.
Ignition Key Warning
Whenever the key is in the Ignition Switch, the Ignition Switch is in LOCK, OFF or ACC, and the driver's door is open, terminal C1 of the Module
is grounded. This sounds the alarm.
Safety Belt Warning
With the Ignition Switch in RUN or START, voltage is supplied through the GAGES Fuse to the Audio Alarm Module. With the driver's safety
belt not buckled, terminal A2 of the Module is grounded through the Safety Belt Switch. The Fasten Belts Indicator always goes on for
approximately five seconds when the Ignition Switch is turned to RUN or START.
