Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
With TBI Model 295

Since Throttle Position (TP) sensor configurations can be mounted interchangeably, be sure to order the correct one for your engine with the identical
part number of the one being replaced.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1

Air Cleaner and adaptor.

2. Electrical connector.
3. EGR valve bolts.
4. EGR valve and gasket. 
5. TP sensor attaching screw assemblies.
6. TP sensor.

NOTICE:
The Throttle Position (TP) sensor is an electrical component, and should not be immersed in any type of liquid solvent or cleaner, as damage may
result.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. With the throttle closed, TP sensor on throttle shaft. Rotate counterclockwise to align mounting holes.
2. TP attaching screws.

Tighten
Attaching screws to 2.0 Nm (18 lb. in.).

3. TP sensor electrical connector.
4. Check for TP Sensor output as follows:

Connect scan tool scanner to read TP sensor output voltage.

With ignition "ON" and engine stopped, TP sensor voltage should be less than 1.25 volts. If more than 1.25 volts, replace TP sensor.

5. EGR valve and gasket.
6. EGR bolts.

Tighten
Bolts to 30 Nm (22 lb. ft.).
