Sunroof Glass Makes Noise When Opening and Closing or Glass is Scratched (File Down-Turned Flange)

2006-2008 Chevrolet HHR
Condition
Some customers may comment that the sunroof glass makes noise when opening and closing or the sunroof glass is scratched.
Cause
This condition may be caused by contact between two down-turned sheet metal flanges and the sunroof glass.
Correction
1.
Remove the sunroof glass.
Important:
Protect the interior of the vehicle before filing.
2.
File 2 mm (.079 in) off the down-turned flange.
3.
Sand down all sharp edges.
4.
Touch up the bare metal with an approved two-part epoxy primer before using the color touch up paint.

5.
Reinstall the sunroof glass. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment.
