Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Floor Shift Control Cable Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle   (See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the shift cable retaining nut near the exhaust heat shield.

3. Remove the shift cable from the transmission cable bracket. 
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the shift cable from the park/neutral position switch.
6. Remove the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement   (See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and

Repair/Front Floor Console Replacement).
