THIS RECALL IS IN EFFECT UNTIL JUNE 30, 2007.
Condition
Certain 2006 Chevrolet Impala Police Fleet vehicles were built with a master lockset instead of a fleet lockset. The master lockset that was installed
allows the vehicle's keys to operate only one vehicle. These vehicles should have been built with a fleet lockset that allows the vehicle's keys to operate
all vehicles within that fleet.
Correction
Dealers are to install a fleet lockset.

Involved are certain 2006 Chevrolet Impala police fleet vehicles built within the VIN breakpoints shown.
Important:
Dealers are to confirm vehicle eligibility prior to beginning repairs by using GMVIS. Not all vehicles within the above breakpoints may be involved.
For dealers with involved vehicles, a listing with involved vehicles containing the complete vehicle identification number, customer name, and address
information has been prepared and will be provided through the applicable system listed below. Dealers will not have a report available if they have no
involved vehicles currently assigned.

Parts Information
Parts required to complete this program are to be obtained from General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). Please refer to your "involved
vehicles listing" before ordering parts. Normal orders should be placed on a DRO = Daily Replenishment Order. In an emergency situation, parts should
be ordered on a CSO = Customer Special Order.
Service Procedure
1.
Remove and replace the ignition lock cylinder. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement procedure in SI. Discard old ignition lock cylinder
and keys.
2.
Remove and replace the door lock cylinder. Refer to Door Lock Cylinder Replacement procedure in SI. Discard old door lock cylinder.
