1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle wheels are pointing straight ahead.

IMPORTANT:  Refer to SIR Service Precautions.

2. Turn OFF the ignition.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) fuse block cover.

IMPORTANT:  With the SIR fuse removed and the ignition ON, the AIR BAG indicator illuminates. This is normal operation, and does not indicate
an SIR system malfunction.

5. Remove the SDM fuse.

6. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the left side impact sensor (SIS) connector (2).
7. Disconnect the left SIS connector (2) from the left SIS (1).

ENABLING PROCEDURE

1. Remove the key from the ignition.

2. Connect the left SIS connector (2) to the left SIS (1).
3. Install the CPA to the left SIS connector (2).
4. Install the SDM fuse.
5. Install the fuse block access cover.
6. Use caution while reaching in and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.The AIR BAG indicator will flash then turn OFF.
7. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System
