Crankshaft Balancer: Service and Repair

J 39087 Crankshaft Balancer (External) Remover and Installer.

Or Equivalent
1. Remove the belt.
2. Remove the upper shroud.
3. Remove the engine cooling fan.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Remove the lower shroud.
6. Remove the accessory drive pulley.
7. Remove the crankshaft balancer (External) bolt.
CAUTION: The inertial weight section of the balancer is assembled to the hub with a rubber type material. The correct removal procedure must
be followed or movement of the inertial weight section of the hub will destroy the tuning of the balancer.
8. Remove the crankshaft balancer (External). Use the J23523-F.
