K 1500 Truck 4WD V8-4.8L VIN V (2003)
1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent to the oil drain and fill plug threads.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Service Precautions.
2. Using J 36511 install the oil drain plug.

Tighten the plug to (30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove and drain the drain pan used to catch the used transmission fluid.
4. Fill the transmission to just below the bottom of the fill plug hole.
5. Using J36511 install the oil fill plug.

Tighten the plug to (30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
6. Lower the vehicle.
