Torsion Bar: Service and Repair
Torsion Bar Bushing Bracket Assembly Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Tools Required

J 36202 Torsion Bar Unloading/Loading Tool.
IMPORTANT: This procedure requires the removal of both torsion bars.
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the torsion bars.
3. Center punch the rivet heads.
4. Drill out the rivets and remove the bracket assembly.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the bracket assembly.
2. Install the mounting bolts and nuts.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten the nuts to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the torsion bars.
4. Remove the safety stands.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Measure the Z height. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications in Alignment.
7. Turn the adjustment bolt clockwise to increase the Z height and counter clockwise to lower the Z height.
