1.
Remove air horn and gasket.
2.
Attach base tool J-34817-2 or BT-8227A-2 to float bowl and retain with air horn attaching screw, Fig. 5.
3.
Position tool J-34817-3 or BT-8227A into base, ensuring contact point rests against outer edge of float lever.
4.
Using adjustable T-scale, measure distance from top of casting to top of index at float toe.
5.
If float adjustment is not within 2/32 inch from specification, bend lever up or down as required with tool shown, Fig. 5.
6.
Remove bending tool, then repeat steps 2 through 4.
7.
Check float alignment, then reassemble carburetor.
