Ball Joint: Service and Repair
Upper Ball Joint Replacement
TOOL REQUIRED:
J 36607 Ball Joint Separator
IMPORTANT
^ Raise the vehicle and support it with suitable safety stands.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Tire and wheel assembly.
2. Rivets from the ball joint (115).
A. Brake hose and bracket, upper control arm only.
Drilling The Upper Ball Joint Rivets
B. Use a 3.17 mm (1/8 inch) drill to cut a 6.35 mm (1/4 inch) deep hole in the center of each rivet.

C. Drill the rivet heads away using a 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) drill).
