Door Lock Cylinder: Removal and Replacement

Door Lock Cylinder Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise the window completely.
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door

3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door

4. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement   (See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door

5. Remove the clip that retains the lock cylinder lever to the lock cylinder.
6. Remove the lock cylinder retainer. Remove the lock cylinder from the outside door handle.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the lock cylinder into the outside door handle.
2. Install the clip.
3. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Outside Handle Replacement   (See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door

Handle/Front Door Exterior Handle/Service and Repair).

4. Install the front door water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement. See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front

5. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement. See: Doors, Hood and Trunk/Doors/Front Door/Front Door
