Steering Wheel: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove horn button cap.

WARNING: Refer to Air Bags and Seat Belts/ Air Bags (Supplemental Restraint Systems)/ Service Precautions/ Technician Safety
Information.

3. Remove steering wheel retainer and nut.
4. Remove horn lead assembly, if equipped.
5. Mark relationship of steering wheel to the steering shaft.
6. Using a suitable puller, remove steering wheel.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

a. Torque steering wheel nut to 29 ft. lbs.
