4. Rotate the crankshaft until the two opposing flywheel bolt holes are parallel to the oil pan surface.

Caution:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install J41476 and bolts onto the rear of the crankshaft. 

5.1.

Tighten the tool retaining bolts by hand until the bolts are snug. Do not overtighten the bolts.

5.2.

Snug the oil pan-to-cover bolts to position the cover to the pan rail.

5.3.

Tighten the oil pan-to-rear cover bolts to 12Nm (106 lb in). 

5.4.

Tighten the rear cover bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). 

6. Remove J41476from the crankshaft.
7. Install the crankshaft rear oil seal. Refer to Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation.
8. Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement.
