Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure
Important: Do not reuse the crankshaft balancer bolt. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt during final assembly.
1. Remove the upper radiator shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Cooling System.
2. Remove the drive belt(s). Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Accessory) or Drive Belt Replacement (A/C).
3. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Cooling System.
4. Remove the starter assembly. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement.
5. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Installation.
2. Install the starter assembly. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement.
3. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Cooling System.
4. Install the drive belt(s). Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (Accessory) or Drive Belt Replacement (A/C).
5. Install the upper radiator shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Cooling System.
