8. Twist the drive axle seal cover 180°. Position the outboard end of the drive axle seal cover over the CV joint flat.
Important: Be sure that the inboard tab of the drive axle seal cover is 180° opposite the outboard tab of the drive axle seal cover before
proceeding.
9. Use the J 41187 in order to tighten the outboard cover clamp.
Important: Tighten the seal cover damp as tight as possible without deforming the retaining clip. Clamps that are not tight enough allow the
cover to slide upon the joint. This causes shortened service life.
10. Rotate the tool toward the clip in order to bend the band onto the clip.
11. Pull the tool's cutting handle in order to cut off excess band.
