Wiper Gear Box: Service and Repair
1.
With wipers in park position, disconnect washer hose from plastic connector.
2.
Remove protective cap.
3.
Lift wiper arm and insert a suitable pin completely through the two holes located next to pivot of arm.
4.
Remove wiper arm retaining nut.
5.
Lift arm off its driveshaft using an up and down rocking motion.
6.
Remove top vent screen shroud.
7.
Disconnect transmission drive linkage assembly in cowl area.
8.
Remove transmission to body attaching screws.
9.
Remove transmission and linkage from vehicle.
10.
Reverse steps 6 through 9 to install transmission.
11.
Install wiper arms one inch below park position.
12.
Remove pin and lower wiper arm into position.
13.
Torque a new wiper arm retaining nut to 14.7-17.7 ft. lbs.
14.
Run wiper system and ensure correct operation.
15.
Replace washer hose and install protective cap.
