FRONT
1.
Remove left camshaft carrier cover as outlined under CAMSHAFT CARRIER COVER.
2.
Remove secondary timing belt as outlined under SECONDARY TIMING BELT/BELT.
3.
Install fuel line hoses under camshaft and between lifters to hold lifters in carrier as shown in Fig. 12.
4.
Remove exhaust crossover pipe.
5.
Remove engine torque strut and strut bracket on engine.
6.
Remove camshaft carrier bolts and nut then the camshaft carrier and gasket.
7.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Remove oil from camshaft carrier to cylinder head bolt holes, Fig. 13.
b. Use petroleum jelly in lifter bores, along with hoses to keep lifters in place.
REAR
1.
Remove right camshaft carrier cover as outlined under CAMSHAFT CARRIER COVER.
2.
Remove secondary timing belt as outlined under SECONDARY TIMING BELT/BELT.
3.
Install fuel line hoses under camshaft and between lifters to hold lifters in carrier as shown in Fig. 12.
4.
Remove front engine lift hook.
5.
Remove camshaft carrier bolts and nut then the camshaft carrier and gasket.
6.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Remove oil from camshaft carrier to cylinder head bolt holes Fig. 13.
