Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Intake Manifold Replace
1.
Relieve fuel system pressure as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
2.
Disconnect fuel rail as follows:
a. Remove intake manifold plenum as outlined under INTAKE PLENUM.
b. Remove fuel line bracket bolts.
c. Disconnect fuel lines at fuel rail using a suitable back-up wrench on the fuel rail fittings.
d. Disconnect vacuum lines at pressure regulator.
e. Remove fuel rail bolts.
f.
Disconnect injector electrical connectors.
g. Remove fuel rail from vehicle.
3.
Disconnect heater hose pipe bracket from thermostat housing.
4.
Remove temperature sensor from intake manifold.
5.
Disconnect radiator hose from thermostat housing.
6.
Remove intake manifold bolts and intake manifold.
7.
Reverse procedure to install, inserting rubber isolators fully into manifold flange before tightening fasteners to specifications.
