Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair

Power Steering Hose Routing

Remove or Disconnect

1. Clip attaching power steering inlet and outlet lines to gear.
2. Inlet and outlet line fittings at steering gear.
3. Inlet and outlet lines at power steering pump assembly.
4. Retainer screws and retainers from the frame.
5. Remaining clips as necessary to remove hoses and pipes.

Inspect

O-rings, replace as necessary.

Install or Connect

Important

When installing power steering lines, make sure that hoses are not in contact with tensioner pulley, serpentine belt or any moving part.

1. Position cooling pipe assembly and retainers on frame.

Tighten

Screws to 6 N.m (54 lb. in.).

2. Inlet and outlet lines to power steering pump assembly.
3. Inlet and outlet lines to power steering gear.

Fill the system.

^

Bleed the system.
