Fuel Rail: Description and Operation

Fuel Rail Assembly

The fuel rail assembly is mounted to the lower portion of the intake manifold, and performs several functions.  It positions the injectors in the intake
manifold, distributes fuel evenly to the injectors, and integrates the fuel pressure regulator into the fuel metering system.  An expansion chamber is
attached to the fuel rail inlet pipe.  The expansion chamber dampens pulsations generated by the injectors cycling.
