Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair
ECT Sensor Service
Care must be taken when handling Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor. Damage to ECT sensor will affect proper operation of the fuel injection
system.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Rear intake duct and MAF sensor.
3. Drain radiator engine coolant.
4. Exhaust crossover pipe.
5. Electrical connector at ECT sensor.
6. Engine coolant temperature sensor.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Coat Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor threads with sealer P/N 1052080 or equivalent.
2. Install sensor in engine.
Tighten
Torque Sensor to 30 Nm (22 lb. ft.)
3. Electrical connector at ECT sensor.
4. Exhaust crossover pipe.
5. Refill engine coolant.
6. Rear intake duct and MAF sensor.
7. Negative Battery Cable.
8. Start engine and check for leaks (coolant and exhaust).
9. Recheck engine coolant level.
